As Creative Director and Founder of Box Clever Interiors & Staging, Hilary brings together three qualities that define the studio’s approach:
An international perspective, a genuine understanding of people, and a strong commercial instinct.
Originally from Ireland, Hilary’s international experiences have shaped her design perspective. Combined with years of designing for the relaxed Queensland lifestyle, they have cultivated an appreciation for timeless design, quality craftsmanship and spaces that feel elegant, effortless and enduring.
Great design is never just about aesthetics. Hilary’s greatest strength is her ability to connect with people. She takes the time to understand her clients—their lifestyle, personality, aspirations and how they want a space to feel. Rather than imposing a signature style, she translates these insights into interiors that are authentic, personal and uniquely theirs.
Hilary also understands the commercial role design plays in achieving meaningful outcomes. Whether creating a home that enhances everyday living, a workplace that reflects a brand, a holiday property designed to create memorable guest experiences, or preparing a property for market through Box Clever Staging, she ensures every space is both beautiful and purposeful.
With decades of experience across residential, commercial and property styling projects, Hilary has built Box Clever into a trusted studio founded on strong values, genuine relationships and an exceptional client experience.
Beyond design, Hilary’s commitment to people extends into her community, where she volunteers with Surf Life Saving and Rosies – Friends on the Street. These values of connection, generosity and care sit at the heart of Box Clever Interiors & Staging.
