The Brief
This Golden Beach Airbnb was designed as a calm, welcoming coastal retreat for short-stay guests seeking an effortless Sunshine Coast escape. The brief called for a relaxed coastal aesthetic with strong practicality, ensuring the space was not only beautiful and on-brand for the location, but also durable, low-maintenance, and highly functional for frequent guest turnover. The result is a thoughtfully layered interior that feels like a true holiday experience – without compromising on ease of use or longevity. We focused on creating a soft, elevated coastal palette that reflects the surrounding waterways and laid-back Golden Beach lifestyle. Neutral foundations were paired with gentle coastal blues, sandy tones, and natural textures to create an immediate sense of calm on arrival. Every decision balanced aesthetics with performance. Materials were selected for durability and ease of cleaning, while furnishings were styled to withstand high guest use without losing their considered, curated feel. Space planning was key to ensuring the property felt open, uncluttered, and intuitive – allowing guests to settle in quickly and comfortably. The completed Airbnb delivers a calm, coastal-luxe experience that photographs beautifully and performs seamlessly for guests. The design enhances the property’s appeal as a short-stay rental, elevating it within a competitive market through thoughtful styling and practical design decisions.
What we love
We especially love the burnt orange front door, which adds an unexpected moment of warmth and personality on arrival – instantly lifting the exterior and giving the property its own identity. It’s a simple gesture, but one that makes a strong first impression and sets the tone for what’s inside.
We also love the non-clichéd approach to coastal styling throughout the home. Rather than leaning into predictable seaside motifs, the design feels restrained, elevated, and quietly confident – using texture, tone, and subtle coastal references to create a space that feels authentic to Golden Beach without ever feeling overdone. The result is a coastal Airbnb with real character – relaxed, refined, and intentionally different.
