The Brief
Located in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast, this highly functional family home was designed with an industrial yet refined aesthetic, balancing concrete textures, edgy detailing, and an airy sense of openness. Our Sydney-based clients engaged Box Clever Interiors for our pre-build design services, seeking expert guidance before construction began. Working closely with their building designer’s plans, we reviewed the layout through an interior design lens to refine functionality, flow, and spatial efficiency. Our involvement extended across all key interior elements, including bespoke cabinetry design, detailed lighting plans, and curated material and product selections that elevated the overall architectural intent. We introduced considered finishes and contemporary solutions to ensure the home felt both cohesive and highly liveable. Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with the builder on site, ensuring every design detail was executed with precision, resulting in a home that is both architecturally strong and beautifully resolved for modern family living on the Sunshine Coast.
What we love
One of the standout elements of this project was our introduction of Modinex Viroc concrete wall panelling – a new product for us at the time, but one that delivered exceptional results. Its raw, textural finish brought an authentic industrial edge to the home, perfectly complementing the concrete and architectural palette while still feeling refined and intentional.
The material added depth and character without overwhelming the space, striking the ideal balance between bold design and liveable warmth. We love how it elevates the overall aesthetic of the home, reinforcing the edgy yet airy brief and proving itself as a versatile, high-impact finish that we will continue to explore in future projects.
