The Brief
Wardle Partners are one of Caloundra’s largest accounting practices and when they moved into their new premise they asked us to assist with the refurbishment. We created a floorplan for this large two story building that incorporated new offices, meeting rooms , reception area and staff kitchen. Upstairs there were two open plan areas
What we love
That the interior design took a fresh approach to the typical fit-out of accountants’ offices. We used a variety of exciting materials to create an eye-catching interior. Japanese porcelain mosaic tiles feature on the reception desk and are set against a background of timber veneer wallpaper. The Moroccan style wallpaper, hand-printed in Sydney by Quercus and Co, is used in the reception area and again at the top of the stairs. It features tones of turquoise; reminiscent of Caloundra’s coastal environment. Lighting plays a massive role. Feature pendants and strip lighting are used to accentuate the office’s features. At night the effect is amazing. Where possible, items were sourced locally and from sustainable resources. One of the most important aspects of the design was to incorporate functionality for the employees and accessibility access for all.
