Kitchen Design | Sunshine Coast | Top 5

Kitchens are the heart of every home but they are also one of the most highly used areas too. Functionality is as equally important as the aesthetics.
Kitchens on the Sunshine Coast are upgraded about every twenty years. Well designed kitchens can really add value to a home. With kitchen design we are experts in our field. Below is a snapshot of five of our favourite kitchen designs completed on the Sunshine Coast.
1. APARTMENT KITCHEN CALOUNDRA
Our client wanted an updated kitchen featuring functionality, style and a sophisticated wow factor.
The space was limited, and the design needed to stick to the existing footprint. This avoided having to update the flooring. The apartment was open plan, therefore, the kitchen needed to flow with the rest of the interior.
The solutions we came up with ensured the existing footprint was covered. We created a more streamlined layout by introducing soft curves . This allowed the space to feel more accommodating to movement. Bulkheads ran to the ceiling. Sleek shadow lines gave the impression of a larger kitchen.
Navurban Windsor was used for the door fronts. This was a bold move which elevated the design to the next level, pairing beautifully with the existing décor and the natural light available. The design was complimented by LED strip lighting. The lighting highlighted the beautiful features in the Ottoman Grey stone benchtop and splashback by Stone Amabasador. Stepping away from the traditional white bright kitchen we created a standout centre piece to this beautiful home.

“I have no hesitation in recommending Box Clever Interiors for any design ideas you are looking for. They have impeccable taste and came up with an innovative design option which I would never have thought of. The materials they chose are both sophisticated and classy and suit the rest of my apartment perfectly. They listened carefully to what I wanted to achieve, and the results far exceeded my expectations. I have been using my kitchen for some time now and the functionality of it is brilliant. I am extremely happy with the finished project and would use them again for any other interior design projects.”

2. BUDERIM KITCHEN
The goal of this kitchen was to create more functionality and introduce access to the back garden.
The challenge was that the client lived in Malta! All communication was done online.
Our solution involved removing the retro fitted pantry. Creating a door in the pantry wall to the back garden. We kept the sink in the same location however we changed the peninsular to an island.
Kitchen was by Askin Kitchens Caloundra. The shaker style doors were in two pac and the benchtop was Smartstone Calacatta Crema.

3. GOLDEN BEACH DREAM
A retired couple bought this 1980’s bungalow which had all original features including the kitchen! With fabulous views of Pumistone Passage to the front.
The solution was to remove a non structural wall that divided the Living Room from the Kitchen. This allowed us to introduce an island. It gave the feeling of more space to the kitchen. An island also gave a place to sit whereby you could make the most of the views.
Our favourite part of this kitchen was the feature tile to the front of the island and the flow that was created with the space.

4, LITTLE MOUNTAIN
This dated kitchen was dark and storage impractical. We redesigned the kitchen introduced drawers and tambour unit style pantry. New feature lights were added over the peninsualar.
The result was a brighter more practical modern kitchen. Classic and style and good to go for another 20 years!

“The kitchen is wonderful to work in, so clean and so easy to find things and the lighting is exceptional. The roll up cabinet is superb and works so much better than the old pantry.”

5. MAROOCHY RIVER
We’ve had this one featured on our projects pages for quite a while, but never shared the before images!
It was quiet a transformation moving from purple and yellow to a modern functional space.
Again were able to remove a non structural wall which opened the space to the lounge. This allowed an island which was an important space for a young family.
The cupboard doors were laminate Oyster Grey and this was teamed with a Smart Stone bench top.
The timber floors were original, these were sanded back and oiled.
